Head to the Museum's Alcove Gallery for an informative tour of Sculpted, Etched and Cut: Metal Works from the Permanent Collection. Sculpted, Etched and Cut brings together a selection of artworks from the Studio Museum's collection that incorporate metal as medium or that were produced through metal-based processes. The tour will have something for everyone: adults, families, and kids of all ages are welcome!

Sculpting Aluminum Foil

Inspired by the exhibition Sculpted, Etched and Cut: Metal Works from the Permanent Collection, participants will sculpt ordinary aluminum foil using various found objects as a frame, and add details using glue and magazines. A sculpture is a three-dimensional art work created by shaping or combining hard materials - typically stone or marble, metal, glass, or wood.
