For her, they come alive transforming the person who wears it and the environment around them. In this workshop, she will take you through her fun and fascinating process of visualizing the mask, creating it and finally wearing it. Just in time for Halloween! Click here for flyer.

Admission to this workshop is free and open to the public.
All are welcome.

Mask Making with Lucrecia Novoa is part of the free series of Third Saturday Family Craft Workshops presented by BCA and HFL through May 21, 2016 at the Huntington Free Library.
Lucrecia Novoa is an artist and cultural educator who uses a combination of masks, puppets, costumes, storytelling and dance to interpret the folk traditions of many cultures. She believes that art education must be a strong component of people's lives, feeling that they need to be motivated not only at an intellectual level but should also receive tools that enhance their creative minds and personal talents.
In her workshops, to children, teens and adults, she uses different materials and techniques to introduce the students to the Art of the Mask. Her goal is to make them realize that the masks are not merely decorative objects in the galleries. The masks can be part of the character and the people can make this character come alive. She has been working with the community of New York, Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts with great experiences to share.
The family craft workshop series continues on November 21st as BCA presents Fall Creations with Denise Shelley. Create a handmade gift for yourself or someone you love. Re-purposed and new materials will be combined to make gifts that will be memorable treasures.
