We would like to share with you a new video on our recent action
against Council Member Melissa Mark-Viverito.
In this short video, immigrant women and other low-income residents
from El Barrio storm and occupy the offices of Council Member Melissa
Mark-Viverito to protest her ongoing promotion of displacement and
negligent landlords in our community. In the face of police presence
and hostility from office personnel, these luchadoras fearlessly speak
truth to power and denounce Mark-Viverito for her profoundly anti-
democratic attacks against her East Harlem constituents, our homes and
community.
