After predicting that this flu season would be particularly terrible, the CDC has now officially pronounced that influenza-like illnesses have reached "epidemic" levels. Somebody get me one of these, would you?
Twenty-two states are currently reporting "high" levels of flu activity, up from 13 in a single week, according to the Washington Post. But though the word "epidemic" may immediately trigger World War Z–like imagery, just because it's an epidemic doesn't mean it's necessarily going to be a bad one. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if 2015 is as awful as 2014. (I'm putting all my money on YUP.)
