MARVAISMS

The Power Of Music
I've been swinging between moods lately. It's barely the end of the first quarter and I've had enough good news and bad news to send my pendulum wildly swinging.

But, as my father always said about life,"who
promised you a rose garden?" Well, actually no one so yes, thanks to him, I have come to appreciate that highs and lows are merely a part of our life experiences. Expect them.

I, however, have found a way to stay centered. Music. Music meets me where I am  no matter the state of my emotions. When I'm super joyous I clap my hands because I am HAPPY.  When it's annoyance, I blast RUDE from the Juke Box...and if my mood is one of reflection, I happily listen to Lang Lang playing Schubert's SERENADE.

Science has long given great weight to music and its health benefits. I know for sure that for me, it is one of the most powerful medicine. I actually feel myself coming back to center and I am happy to let the music take me fully into the emotion of the moment, be it sadness, joy or spiritual renewal. A little laughter, a little tears and wow...a brand new me.

I have my playlist and I am happy to share it with you if a little music therapy can offer you peace.
