| September 19, 2016 To All Interested Parties: Industry Notice #16-20 For Immediate Release You Can Upload Documents Online When Filing New Vehicle Applications as of Starting on September 26, 2016, you will be able to upload your required documents when you file your new vehicle application online at: https://www1.nyc.gov/lars. You will not need to come in person to the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC). Any documents you don't have when you file the application online can be e-mailed to the TLC once you have them available. This replaces the current system, where you submit your application and all required documents by making an appointment or using our drop-off service. Currently, even if you file your new vehicle application online, you still need to make an appointment to complete the application process. Beginning November 1, 2016, you will not be able to drop off applications for licensure of new vehicles or for transfers. Applications will only be taken online or by appointment. The drop-off service ends on October 31, 2016.
