Upcoming Ways to Experience Fort Tryon Park 238th Commemoration of the Battle of Fort Washington Sunday, November 16 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Cafe Lawn in Fort Tryon Park This year marks the 238th anniversary of the Battle of Fort Washington, a key event during the Revolutionary War. Be transported back in time and learn about your local history. This event will feature the Brigade of the American Revolution, a blacksmith demonstration, live 18th-century music, quill writing and games for kids, author Barnet Schecter, tours of the battle scene by heroine Margaret Corbin, and historical photos and maps. Prizes will be given for best children's and best adult's revolutionary war costume!
