Friends, The People's Organization For Progress (POP) is calling a march on Saturday to the Federal Building in Newark to demand that the US Department of Justice prosecute police officers involved in the killings of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Abdul Kamal, Kashad Ashford and other victims of police brutality. It will also demand the federal prosecution of George Zimmerman for killing Trayvon Martin. The march and rally will take place this Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2014 and will begin 11:30am at the corner of Broad and Market Streets in the heart downtown Newark, New Jersey. The march will proceed down Broad to the Federal Building at 970 Broad Street. The Federal Building is located at the corner of Broad and Walnut Streets. The marchers will rally in front of the Federal Building when they arrive. They should get there about 12:45pm. At the rally POP will request a meeting with US Attorney for New Jersey Paul Fishman to discuss the cases of Abdul Kamal and Kashad Ashford. I appeal to all members, friends, and supporters of the People's Organization For Progress to attend this event. I call upon all who want justice for the victims of police brutality, murder, and misconduct to attend. Please do all that you can to spread the word about the march. Use word of mouth, make phone calls, distribute leaflets, send email, and utilize Facebook, Instagram, and other social media to inform as many as possible about the march. Please wear your POP sweatshirt to the march if you have one but definitely attend if you don't. For more information call (973) 801-0001. I look forward to seeing you there. Power To The People!
