Those who prefer to be extremely prepared, should an amorous encounter arise, can rest assured that Brooklyn prosecutors won't automatically assume that they're prostitutes. Brooklyn D.A. Charles Hynes sent a letter to NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly saying his office won't use condoms as evidence of prostitution, so police should stop seizing them. Health advocates say that when police link condom possession to sex work it discourages safe sex, so this is a nice "good cop" counterpoint to tonight's earlier report that witnesses were de-pantsed on Hynes' watch.
